Relinquishing ownership of a pet is a difficult decision. LFACC staff is available to provide you with alternatives to owner relinquishment and to walk you through the process if the decision to sign over ownership is final. You must live in Fayette County in order to sign an animal over to LFACC. You must bring in a photo ID verifying your address. To assist LFACC with the cost of caring for your relinquished pet, there is a fee for relinquishment. Prior to bringing the animal into LFACC, you MUST speak with an Animal Services representative. Please note, due to the magnitude of animals received by LFACC, no follow-up information will be available once you sign your pet over to LFACC.
